左室拡張機能

拡張機能の重要性

　心臓がポンプとして効率よく働くためには，収縮機能と拡張機能の両者がバランスよく保たれていなくてはならない．従来は心臓のポンプとして収縮機能にのみ注目されてきたきらいがあるが，近年では拡張機能も注目されるようになった．それにはいくつかの理由がある．

　心不全をきたす症例のなかには，左室駆出率(left ventricular ejection fraction：LVEF)50％以上の症例が約40％を占めると報告されている¹⁾．これらの症例では，左室収縮機能が保たれ，左室拡大もないのに心不全を起こす．これらは拡張期心不全(diastolic heart failure)と呼ばれ，左室拡張機能障害によると考えられている．
