●慢性便秘によりQOLが障害される．
●慢性便秘のQOLに与える影響は，アレルギー疾患や炎症性腸疾患などの慢性疾患とほぼ同等である．
●慢性便秘のQOL評価にはthe Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life（PAC-QOL）が世界的に使用されており，日本語版も開発されている．
●慢性便秘診療ではQOL評価を含めた症状評価が重要である．
