●年齢とともに，便秘の有訴者率は上昇する．
●加齢が便秘に与える影響は，腸管神経系の変化，骨盤底機能障害に加え，さまざまな生活環境要因が考えられる．
●適切な病態評価を行い，併存症や薬剤の副作用に留意しながら，生活環境に合わせて，包括的な治療にあたることが重要である．
