総論
　皮疹は鑑別が難しい症状の1つですが，手掌・足底に認めるということは鑑別を絞る大きな手がかりです．「手掌，足底の皮疹」の鑑別は表1に示す通りです．なお，表1には全身の皮疹の一部として手掌，足底に認めるものを含みます．
　この中でも，髄膜炎菌，リケッチア，トキシックショック症候群，感染性心内膜炎などは見逃すと致死性になりうるので注意しましょう．本章ではこの中でも注意したいものについて述べます．
