Point
◎SAPHO症候群は，Synovitis-Acne-Pustulosis-Hyperostosis Osteitisの頭文字をとったさまざまな疾患を含む概念で，皮膚所見に加え，特に前胸部（胸部・鎖骨を中心）に生じる無菌性の硬化性もしくは肥大性骨関節病変を引き起こす．
◎本邦では皮膚症状の80％以上が掌蹠膿疱症であり，その治療薬として生物学的製剤のIL-23阻害薬が2018年SAPHO症候群の亜型である掌蹠膿疱症（PPP）/掌蹠膿疱症性骨関節炎（pustulotic arthro-osteitis：PAO）に対して世界で初めて使用可能となった．
