Point
◎本邦の潜在的歯周病患者は7,000万人．そのうち継続的な治療を行っている者は5％程度と極端に低い．
◎歯周病は糖尿病と相互に影響する．糖尿病以外の血管リスクに関する疾患とも相関がある．
◎75歳以上で顕著に歯牙を失う傾向がある．また75歳以上から歯科受診率は低下する．
◎一般内科外来患者のほぼすべての患者に，かかりつけ医の歯科医をもつことを推奨する．
