Point
☞髄膜炎診断の際，複数の髄膜刺激徴候の検査をしたほうがよい．
☞髄膜刺激徴候が陰性でも病歴，身体所見を考慮に入れ髄膜炎の可能性を検討する．
☞自発性網膜静脈拍動消失，うっ血乳頭は頭蓋内圧亢進を示唆する．
☞自発性網膜静脈拍動消失は健常人，黒内障でもみられることがあるので注意する．
☞くも膜下出血診断の際，項部硬直陽性の場合可能性は高いが，陰性でもくも膜下出血は否定できない．
