Point
◎ブドウ糖非発酵菌の多くは土壌などに生息する環境菌であり病原性は低いものが多いが，集中治療を受けている患者や免疫不全者において，時に重篤な感染症の原因となりうる．
◎一般的に健常人に感染を起こすことは稀である．
◎集中治療や抗菌薬長期投与を受けている患者では，これらの菌を保菌していることもある．検出された菌が「保菌」なのか，感染の原因となっているのか見極める必要がある．
◎多剤耐性傾向をとりやすく，薬剤耐性緑膿菌（multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa：MDRP）や薬剤耐性アシネトバクター（multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter sp.：MDRA）による国内でのアウトブレイク事例も散見されていることから，感染対策の観点からも注目すべき菌である．
