◎健康寿命の延伸などを図るために「健康寿命の延伸等を図るための脳卒中，心臓病その他の循環器病に係る対策に関する基本法」が成立した．
◎rt-PA静注療法の均てん化を目指し，一次脳卒中センター（PSC）が整備されている．
◎機械的血栓回収療法を含む高度な脳卒中診療体制を確立するために，PSCコア施設が整備されている．
◎施設間連携および遠隔医療のkeyとなるtelestrokeは，臨床現場で活用されつつある．
