Point
◎喘息および慢性閉塞性肺疾患(COPD)において,咳嗽と喀痰は一般的な症状の1つである.
◎喘息およびCOPDの呼吸器症状に対する治療の基本は吸入療法であるが,実臨床において残存する咳嗽や喀痰症状に対して,鎮咳薬や喀痰調整薬(去痰薬)が処方されることが多い.
◎ATP受容体サブタイプP2X3受容体選択的拮抗薬であるゲーファピキサントは,ATP受容体を抑制する作用から,難治性喘息性咳嗽に有用な可能性がある.
◎喘息およびCOPDに対する鎮咳薬や去痰薬の使用のエビデンスは現在明らかでないが,基本の吸入療法を行ったうえでも症状の訴えが強い場合,鎮咳薬・去痰薬は選択肢の1つとなりうる.
