　この連載では，リウマチ・膠原病診療における緊急病態，知っておかないと重篤な状態となりうる事象について取り扱う．リウマチ・膠原病診療は専門性が高い面もあるが，専門医に必ずしも受診していない患者も多い．その背景には，専門医が少ない地域性の問題や，高齢などの理由で専門医への通院が困難であるなどの多くの要因がある．自分自身で関節リウマチ（RA）の診療を行っていなくとも，RAや膠原病を併存症としてもっている患者を診る機会のあるすべての医師において注意すべき見逃したくない，ヤバい病態について学ぶ連載である．
