Ⅰ.はじめに

 近年,画像診断技術の進歩や脳ドックの普及などにより,無症候性の脳梗塞が診断される機会が増えている.また,ライフスタイルの欧米化や危険因子の変化に伴うアテローム硬化症の増加などもあり,TIA(transient ischemic attack)症例に遭遇する機会が多い.また,TIAについては,最近の画像診断の進歩に伴い,その概念も変化しつつある.

 そこで本稿では,無症候性ないし軽症脳梗塞とTIA,おのおのの病態について最近の知見をふまえ,概念や診療方針などについて述べる.
