・21世紀に入ってから，運動誘発電位，視覚誘発電位，皮質皮質間誘発電位などの有用性が報告され，国内外で術中モニタリングが確実に普及してきている．
・モニタリング法が非常に多岐にわたること，扱う疾患も脳病変にとどまらず脊髄・脊椎病変に及ぶことなどから，解決されていない問題点も多く存在する．
