E型肝炎

サマリー

　E型肝炎はかつて流行性非A非B型肝炎とされていたが，その原因ウイルスであるE型肝炎ウイルス(hepatitis E virus，HEV)の遺伝子配列が1991年に決定された．HEVはA型肝炎ウイルスと同様に糞口感染形式をとりアジア・アフリカを中心とした発展途上国などの衛生環境の悪い地域に特有の疾患であった．しかし近年，欧米などの非流行地域でも国内発生のE型肝炎が報告され，2001年にはわが国においても海外渡航歴のない急性肝炎患者の血液よりHEVが検出された．その後，飼育ブタやイノシシ，シカなどの野生動物の肉，内臓の摂取後のE型肝炎の発生例が報告され，これらの感染動物を介したヒトへの感染形式をとるzoonosis(人畜共通感染症)として注目されている．
