赤血球沈降速度

新しい知見

　赤血球沈降速度(赤沈)の測定はウエスタグレン法の国際標準法で長い間実施されてきた．しかし，現在ではこの方法の問題点を改善した，迅速・簡便・安全で少量の検体で実施できる種々の自動化装置が開発され広く用いられるようになった．赤沈は非特異的な炎症などを広く検出する方法であったが，現在では種々の特異的な検査項目の測定値が微量の血液から短時間に得られるため，赤沈測定は関節リウマチなどの慢性炎症性疾患の経過，活動性，治療の判定などに利用が限定されている．
