検体部門における検体保存と管理

検体とは?

　種々の言葉が出てくるので，まず本稿に限定した定義を示す．検体の定義を検査目的で患者から得られたヒト由来の試料とする．通常は，この定義で十分であるが，私たちは，検査値をも検体の一部であるという認識をもちつつあり^1，2），それに従えば，検査目的で患者から得られたヒト由来の試料および関連する検査値ということになる．

　臨床検査後検体とは，上記のように定義された検体のうち，臨床検査を終了した検体をいう．これには，モラトリアム状態で再検査を待つ検体だけでなく，医療廃棄物として廃棄されることになっている検体のうち，あえて後日の再検査に備えて保存されている検体も含まれる．したがって，この定義に従えば，今回の表題である検体部門における検体保存と管理を臨床検査後検体の保存と管理と読み替えてもよいように思う．
