ピロリ菌検査の使い分け

はじめに

　Helicobacter pylori(以下，H. pylori)は，WarrenとMarshallにより胃粘膜から分離同定されたグラム染色陰性の微好気性桿菌であり^1），胃粘膜上皮の慢性的な炎症を惹起する．H. pyloriはさまざまな疾患との関連が知られており(表1)，特に胃癌との関連から，1995年に世界保健機構(World Health Organization，WHO)は，H. pyloriをclass1carcinogen(癌との関連が強く考えられる)に認定した．H. pyloriの除菌は，これらの疾患に対する治療となることが報告されており，その診断は極めて重要である．
