脂質異常症とスタチン

■スタチン

　脂質異常症に対する治療薬で最も処方頻度の高い薬剤がスタチンである．スタチンとは，HMG-CoA（3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl coenzyme A）還元酵素の働きを阻害することで，血中のコレステロール値を低下させる薬物のことをいう．わが国には，プラバスタチン，シンバスタチン，アトルバスタチン，フルバスタチン，ピタバスタチン，ロスバスタチンの6種類のスタチンがある．初期のスタチンであるプラバスタチンやシンバスタチンは真菌由来の物質をもとに開発されていたが，近年は，よりコレステロール低下作用を強化した完全合成によるスタチンが多数を占めるようになった．
