はじめに

　神経超音波は，整形外科やペインクリニックの分野では早くから注目を浴びていたが，神経内科の分野で末梢神経障害の診断に応用されるようになったのはここ数年である．

　欧米では，すでに筋電計と超音波装置をベッドサイドにおいて検査することが常識になっている．日本はかなり遅れていて，やっと各学会でハンズオンセミナーが行われるようになってきたが，日常的に検査が行われているのはごく限られた施設のみである．
