Staphylococcus pseudintermediusを見逃さないために

はじめに

　近年，犬の常在ブドウ球菌であるStaphylococcus pseudintermediusのメチシリン耐性株（methicillin-resistant S. pseudintermedius：MRSP）がメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（methicillin-resistant S. aureus：MRSA）と誤同定される可能性のあることが明らかとなり，その鑑別が問題となっている．日々の検査でS. pseudintermediusを見逃さないために，本稿ではその疫学や性状について解説する．
