高齢者の保健行動と転倒歴―社会経済的地位との相関

本稿では，日本の高齢者における保健行動・転倒経験とSESとの関連を，AGESプロジェクト［Aichi Gerontological Evaluation Study(愛知老年学的評価研究)プロジェクト］のデータを用いて検討する．

　保健行動は，利用可能な資源の差異や心理的環境などと並んで，健康の社会的格差が生じる理由の1つとされている^1～4)．欧米での研究では，保健行動―不健康な食事摂取，肥満(体重過多)，活動性の低さ，飲酒問題など―について，教育歴・所得・職業といった社会経済地位(socioeconomic status: SES)との関連が指摘されており，教育歴が短い人，所得の低い人，そして非熟練労働者等の非ホワイトカラー層で相対的に不健康につながる行動が多いとされている^5～8)．しかしながら，中国ではむしろSESが上昇するにつれてより不健康な健康行動が増えるという分析が示しているように⁹⁾，政治・社会・経済・文化などの異なる社会において，SESと保健行動との関連が同じであると想定することはできない．
