感染症の流行と予防接種―インフルエンザを中心に

インフルエンザワクチン接種の目的は，ハイリスク者における重篤な合併症や死亡を予防することである．2001(平成13)年の予防接種法改正で，高齢者などを対象にインフルエンザの予防接種が行われることとなり，わが国のインフルエンザ対策もやっと世界のレベルに追いつきつつある．これまでの経緯の理解に資するため，本稿ではインフルエンザワクチン接種の現状，および適応と評価について概説する．

流行と予防接種

　1. わが国における接種の現状

　厚生労働省医薬局血液対策室の調査によると，2004/05シーズン(平成16年度)における予防接種法に基づく接種対象者数は，合計24,491,645人(①65歳以上の高齢者24,355,088，②60歳以上65歳未満で心臓，腎臓，呼吸器などの障害を有する者136,557，未把握市町村あり)，実際に接種を受けた人数は11,410,856人，接種率は46.6%である．
