米国CDCのEISについて

文献概要

　最近の国内外での新興・再興感染症の状況を考えると，それらの引き起こす健康危機管理問題に国全体として，または国を超えた地域全体として，迅速，適切に取り組む準備が必要となっています．このような状況の中，公衆衛生現場で実地疫学専門家の存在が重要になってきており，日本を含めた多くの国々で，そのような期待に応えるため，実地疫学専門家養成プログラム(Field Epidemiology Training Program: FETP)が開始されつつあります．

　米国では，50年以上も前からEIS(Epidemic Intelligence Service)という名の養成プログラムが存在しており，公衆衛生現場で活躍する実地疫学専門家を数多く生み出してきました．本稿では，そのEISの始まりから成果について述べます．
