米国における母子保健医療と出産の諸状況

文献概要

　民間医療保険を中心とした独特のシステムを有する米国医療は，日本にも様々な示唆を与えるものである．米国カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスのUCLA(University of California, Los Angeles)公衆衛生大学院に留学中の2008年，UCLA大学病院での出産を通じ，患者として米国医療を経験する機会を得た．当時の経験を踏まえ，母子保健政策，民間医療保険，周産期医療サービスについて，日本との比較を交えつつご紹介したい．
