文献概要

　私たちの社会は，1,300年間儒教による敬老思想を受け継いできており，現行老人福祉法の理念にも敬老思想の普及を規定している．また昭和41年から敬老の日を国の休日として規定しており，本来高齢者には優しい国である．

　西欧諸国では，高齢者の尊厳問題を重要視する時代を迎えており，その一環として高齢者の虐待問題の研究や社会的対応に過去30年努力を積み重ねてきている．
