うつと社会経済的地位

はじめに

　うつの症状として，気分の落ち込み，気力・食欲の低下などがあげられるが，うつが長引くと日常生活に支障を来たし，自殺に至る場合すらある¹⁾．うつが所得，教育，職業など社会経済的地位の低い層に多いこと(健康格差)は，内外の研究により報告されている^1～3)．

　本稿では，それらの研究を元に，うつにおける健康格差がどの程度あるのか，考えられる原因は何かを見ていく．以下，疾患をさす場合は「うつ病」，スクリーニングテストにより判定された場合を「うつ状態」，症状や疾患を含めた広義の意味では「うつ」を使用する．
