糖尿病・肥満と死亡リスク，癌との関連について

はじめに

　糖尿病の治療目標は，糖尿病性細小血管合併症および動脈硬化性疾患の発症，進展阻止，健康な人と変わらない日常生活の質の維持と寿命の確保である．しかし，1990年以降では，糖尿病の有無にかかわらず悪性新生物が死因の第1位であり，糖尿病においても癌発症への留意が極めて重要である．一方，肥満においても発癌の危険性が上昇すると言われているが，糖尿病の増加と並行して，肥満者の割合は男性で増加傾向にある．

　本稿では，糖尿病や肥満における死亡リスク，癌との関連性について概説する．
