はじめに

　2006年に成立したがん対策基本法に基づいて，都道府県においてがん対策推進計画が展開され，5年が経過した．2013年度以降には，これまでの進捗状況を踏まえ，診断時(早期)からのがん緩和ケアを全国で提供できる体制の整備が始まった．がん緩和医療に関して，過去5年間のがん緩和医療の充実により，全国のがん診療連携拠点病院を中心とした「量」の整備から，「質」の整備へ動きだしたといえる．
