はじめに

　歯科治療が全身の精神・身体に与える影響，逆に，全身の変化が歯科領域の症状に及ぼす影響について多くの事例が報告され，その影響の重大性に高い関心が寄せられている．ここ数年の間，ヘルスケアにおける口腔と全身との関連性が科学的に追求されたことにより，歯周病が心臓・循環器疾患や糖尿病，メタボリックシンドロームなどの生活習慣病や，早産・低体重児出産に深く関わっていることが報告されている．
