禁煙治療の現状と課題

　喫煙だけでなく，受動喫煙の健康被害についてもエビデンスが蓄積され，医学・歯学学会および関連団体が相次いで禁煙宣言を行い，タバコのない社会を目指して行動を開始している．2006年4月から禁煙治療の保険適用が始まり約10年が経過したが，ようやく「禁煙をするために治療を受けることは効果がある」と一般に認識されるようになってきた．禁煙社会環境整備が徐々にではあるが進み，2012年に策定されたがん対策推進基本計画(第2期)，および2013年度からの健康日本21(第二次)において2022年度までに喫煙率を12%に減らすという数値目標が設定されている．一般診療のなかで禁煙治療の重要性が増すなか，本稿では禁煙の意義，禁煙外来の実際，禁煙治療の現状と課題について概説する．
