はじめに
　図1にわが国における年間自殺者総数の推移を示したが，既遂自殺者数は，女性よりも男性で明らかに多い．本論執筆時に入手可能な最新のデータは2013年のものであるが，この年のわが国の自殺率は，人口10万人当たり男性が30.3，女性が13.0であり，既遂自殺の男女比は2.3倍となっている¹⁾．さらに，図2に全自殺者に占める男女別構成比の推移を示しておく．
