米国の糖尿病対策

　米国糖尿病学会学術集会が1940年から，欧州糖尿病学会学術集会は1965年から毎年開催されている．因みに日本糖尿病学会学術集会は1958年から開催されており，糖尿病に対する日本の意欲は素晴らしいものといえよう．
　本稿では，米国の糖尿病に対する国家的戦略とでもいうDCCT/EDIC研究を例に取り上げて，米国における糖尿病の動向が世界を席捲してきた現状を示したい．
