イギリスにおける医師・専門医と公衆衛生医・専門家の資格認定の変遷

　イギリスは，歴史の中で医師，看護職などの資格，認定，登録の制度を発展させてきた．専門職団体に権限を委譲した背景には，ローマ・カソリック支配から離脱を図る必要性があったことがある．教育，医療，福祉，救済などの多くがローマ・カソリックの聖職者に握られていた¹⁾のを，16世紀にイギリス国王は医師の資格認定をローマ・カソリックから切り離し，医師の専門職団体に委ねた．以後，専門職団体が基本的に自己統治する形態は引き継がれてきている．以下にイギリスにおける医師の資格認定の歴史と公衆衛生専門家制度の現状について記す．
