はじめに
　東北大学大学院医学系研究科は、東日本大震災50日後の2011年5月1日に、被災者・被災地支援を目的とする地域保健支援センターを設置した。これは9つの分野・部局（運動学、公衆衛生学、精神神経学、国際看護管理学、整形外科学、地域保健学、微生物学、婦人科学・周産期医学、歯学研究科）で構成され、被災者・被災自治体の支援とともに、被災者を対象とするコホート研究を行った^1）2）。
　宮城県被災者コホート研究の対象は、石巻市3地区（雄勝・牡鹿・網地島）・仙台市若林区・七ヶ浜町の被災者約8千名である（図1）。居住場所、メンタルヘルス、生活習慣、ソーシャル・ネットワーク、地域とのつながりなどに関するアンケート調査を2020年まで毎年行い、本人同意に基づいて異動（転出・死亡）・特定健診・医療費・介護保険の要介護認定などの情報を入手した。これにより、被災後の生活環境などの変化が心身の健康に及ぼす影響を分析した^1）2）。
