はじめに
　筆者は、大学院で建築学を修了した後、建築設計事務所で3年間、建築設計実務に携わりました。その後、再び大学に戻り、研究・教育に携わるようになり13年を迎えています。扱う主要なテーマは、健康と都市・空間デザインです。医学・公衆衛生学と都市・空間デザイン。一見、全く異なる分野のように感じられます。本稿では、この2つの分野を重ねる視点が求められていることと、その実践について述べたいと思います。
