◆農耕が始まる以前の人類の健康は私たちがこれまでに想像してきたよりも健康だった可能性が高い。
◆人類と感染症の関係において転換点となったのは農耕の開始と定住、野生動物の家畜化、そして文明の勃興であった。
◆一方で、20世紀以降、新興感染症の出現頻度が高くなっている。それは人間と自然の関わり方が変わってきたためかもしれない。
