帯状疱疹ワクチン

1．当該疾患の発生動向
　水痘帯状疱疹ウイルス（varicella zoster virus: VZV）は、初感染で水痘を引き起こした後、知覚神経節に潜伏感染しているが、免疫低下などが誘因となり再活性化を起こして帯状疱疹を生じる。わが国における帯状疱疹の発生頻度は年間1,000人当たり5人程度とされている。加齢に伴い増加する傾向があり、50歳を境に発症率が急激に上昇し、70歳以上では1,000人当たり10人以上となる。高齢化が進行しているわが国においては、今後ますます患者の増加が予想され、ワクチンによる予防が重要と考えられる^1）。
