内頸動脈閉塞症

はじめに

　内頸動脈閉塞症は内頸動脈の塞栓，狭窄や閉塞の病態をいい，眼動脈閉塞症とともに眼虚血症候群の1つである。50～80歳男性に好発し，高率に高血圧，糖尿病を基礎疾患とする。血管新生緑内障の原因疾患の第3位で，13％を占める^1）。内頸動脈閉塞症は高率に虚血性心疾患や脳血管障害を発症するため，患者の視機能だけでなく，脳外科，循環器科と連携して生命予後を守る必要がある。
