全身性エリテマトーデス

　全身性エリテマトーデス（systemic lupus erythematosus：以下，SLE）は多彩な免疫異常や皮膚粘膜，筋骨格系，中枢神経系，感覚器，消化管，腎臓など多くの臓器に異常を呈する全身的な自己免疫疾患であり，患者の約80％は女性である。全身症状は多彩であり，さまざまな眼合併症を伴うことも知られている。わが国における膠原病としては関節リウマチの次に多く認められる。病因としては，病的な自己抗体が過剰に産生され，抗原と結合し免疫複合体が形成される。この免疫複合体が臓器に沈着し，臓器障害を起こすと考えられている。発症には遺伝的要因（SLE疾患感受性遺伝子の存在）や紫外線，薬剤，ウイルス感染，妊娠などの環境因子が関連し，これらの因子によって引き起こされた免疫異常が病態形成にかかわっていると考えられている^1）。
