眼内新生血管に対する新しい薬物療法

　血管内皮増殖因子（vascular endothelial growth factor：VEGF）は加齢黄斑変性における脈絡膜新生血管形成に中心的な役割を果たす物質であるが，最近，これを特異的に阻害する薬剤が臨床応用され，話題となっている。また，VEGFは糖尿病網膜症における病態にも重要な役割を果たしており，同薬剤の治療対象として注目されている。ここでは抗VEGF薬物療法の現況について概説する。
