正常眼圧緑内障モデル動物の確立と治療研究への展開

　正常眼圧緑内障の原因については諸説あるが，発症メカニズムの解明はまだ十分には進んでいない。本稿では，筆者らが最近見いだした世界初の正常眼圧緑内障モデル動物（グルタミン酸輸送体欠損マウス）を紹介するとともに，これまでの緑内障研究の問題点や，同モデルを用いた今後の治療研究の展望を概説してみたい。
