はじめに

　緑内障治療の根幹が眼圧下降であることに異論はなく，また眼循環改善や神経保護による治療の有効性も示唆されている^1）。眼圧下降は，眼圧下降薬点眼による薬物療法が主体となるが，すべての緑内障を眼圧下降薬のみで治療することはできないため，正しい診断のもと，適切な治療法を選択することが求められる。「緑内障治療＝眼圧下降薬処方」ではないことを銘記するべきである。

　本項ではまず主な緑内障治療薬について述べ，次に病型別に眼圧下降薬の使い方を解説する。
