網膜色素変性

POINT

◎網膜色素変性は遺伝性の網膜変性疾患で，桿体細胞の機能不全および細胞死によって夜盲や視野狭窄をきたす。

◎病期が進行すると，桿体細胞のアポトーシスに続いて錐体の細胞死が起こり，中心視力も低下する。

◎現在のところ，網膜色素変性に対して明確な有効性を示す治療法は確立されていないものの，病態理解の進歩からさまざまな治療薬の開発が進んでおり，世界中で臨床研究が実施されている。

◎黄斑浮腫などの網膜色素変性の合併症に対しては，既存の治療薬が有効である症例がある。
