はじめに

　原発性あるいは続発性に眼内に発生した悪性腫瘍は，ぶどう膜炎や網膜剝離のような腫瘍とは思えない眼所見を呈し，容易に診断できない場合がある。このような病態を仮面症候群といい，仮面に惑わされて診断や治療が遅れると視力予後が非常に悪くなるばかりでなく，生命予後にかかわる重大な問題を引き起こす可能性があるので，仮面に騙されないようにしなくてはいけない。
