はじめに

　いきなり“兄貴”って何だと思われたかも知れませんが，筆者は，本連載の編集を行っている柿﨑先生が学生時代のBSLで担当教官だったことがそもそもの始まりです。したがって血縁はありません！

　今回，本連載の一環として，眼瞼下垂に対する挙筋短縮術（levator resection）について，どのように学べばわかりやすく，かつ，早期に習得できるかを意識しつつ，筆者がこれまでに多くの眼科医に指南してきた経験を駆使して解説します。
