性ホルモンと線維化

文献概要

　臓器，組織における線維化とは，種々の内的あるいは外的要因よって引き起こされた器官の組織障害に対する生体反応で，組織障害修復を経て最終的に障害部位が緻密な膠原線維や結合組織に置き換わることをいう。眼では，このような線維化が永続的に残存することにより本来の視機能に多大な影響を及ぼすことがある。疾患のなかでは，発症頻度や治療予後に性差が認められるものがある。さらに，性別に明らかな差異はなくとも，疾患の病態生理に性ホルモンが関与している可能性が考えられる。そこで，眼疾患での線維化への性ホルモンの関与の可能性について概説する。
