術前，術後抗菌薬点眼はもはや不要なのか？

　抗菌薬の乱用による耐性菌の爆発的な増加が懸念され，2015年5月の世界保健機関（WHO）総会では薬剤耐性菌に対するグローバル・アクション・プランが採択された。加盟国は2年以内に自国の行動計画を策定することを要求され，本邦でも翌年4月に抗菌薬減少の目標値が設定された。今後は，明確なエビデンスをもたない抗菌薬投与に厳しい目が向けられる。これからの白内障術者は，予防的抗菌薬を減量したうえで感染リスクを減らさねばならない。
