患者に寄り添う網膜色素変性の診療

文献購入ページに移動 現在,ほとんどの眼疾患において何らかの治療手段が得られるが,網膜色素変性(RP)だけは治療法が存在せず,「最後の不治の眼病」として取り残されている。一般にRPの患者は難病申請のために年一度来るだけで,眼科医は視力と視野を測って眼底を診て,「変わりありませんね」の一言。「見えなくなった」と言っている患者は,がっかりして帰る。しかし,眼底写真では捉えられない微細な形態変化を,OCTなら定量的に評価でき,視野も網膜感度を測れば,患者の「見えなくなった」を正しく評価できる。また,RPの治療法開発に向けた研究は,世界的にかつてない盛り上がりを見せている。日常診療も臨床研究も諦めずに,患者に寄り添い続ける。
