●ビデオインターフェロメーターにより涙液油層像を得ることができるが，その動態や破壊像から，直下の液層の量的情報や涙液層の安定性についての情報を得ることができる。

●涙液油層の伸展動態は涙液の量的指標となり，涙液減少型ドライアイのスクリーニングや重症度評価に有用である。

●ビデオインターフェロメトリーによりソフトコンタクトレンズ（SCL）表面の涙液層の厚みや安定性についての情報を得ることもでき，SCL関連ドライアイの診療や研究に活用できる。
