◆近視性牽引黄斑症への硝子体手術は2000年代前半に普及し，機器の進歩により低侵襲化され，成績は向上してきている。

◆黄斑分離症への手術後に形成される黄斑円孔が視力不良の原因であったが，中心窩温存内境界膜剝離術の開発により，発症率が低下した。

◆黄斑円孔網膜剝離では内境界膜翻転法や自家網膜移植術によって黄斑円孔の閉鎖率が上がり，治療成績が改善した。
